Mode Specific Guidance

This category of the Guidelines provides material for the assessment and appraisal of specific modes. It complements the rest of the material in the Guidelines, and is specifically provided as an extension of the general guidance on:

• Problem assessment
• Options assessment
• Cost-benefit analysis

In assessing a specific mode, users will be expected to:

• Follow the ATAP Framework
• Familiarise themselves with the general guidance on problem and options assessment, and cost-benefit analysis
• Apply the mode-specific guidance

ATAP provides the following mode-specific guidance:

• M1 Public Transport
• M2 Road Transport
• M3 Freight Rail
• M4 Active Travel
• M5 Behaviour Change
• M6 Air and Sea Transport

Guidance on other applications will be prepared during future phases of ATAP development.
